What’s at Stake in King v Burwell?

The upcoming Supreme Court ruling in the case of King v Burwell will determine if millions of Americans keep their health insurance plans. A ruling in King’s favor will mean that federally-based health insurance plans will end. The infographic below shows the type of healthcare marketplace in each state.

Selecting a state will show the tax credits provided to each state for two types of plans. The states that may be affected by this decision will also show the number and percentage of those who will lose their healthcare benefits. The state-based markets will not be affected, but all others will.
